Hexagons are the heart of organic chemistry; when six carbon atoms bond, the angle is 120 degrees forming a perfect hexagon called the benzene ring. The hexagonal structure of snowflakes contain one atom of oxygen and two of hydrogen, allowing them to group efficiently.

Students will draw upon the first photos captured of Snowflakes by Wilson Bentley also known as Snowflake Bentley, an American meteorologist and photographer 1865 ~ 1931.
